【 摘 要 】

Geoecology is characterized by the integrated study of the relationships established in the landscape, to determine the landscape’s dynamics and functioning. The objective is to classify the landscapes of Mount Roraima and its surroundings (Gran Sabana), by mapping and identifying the geoecological functions of the delimited units. The methodological bases were composed of Geoecology, which enabled to draw the geoecological profile. As a result, the topography variation determines the Highlands and Lowlands systems, in which we to delimited 5 units that preserve homogeneity between them: a) Mountain top with Pan-tepuyana vegetation on rocks; b) slopes with U-valleys with mesothermal Pan-Tepuyana ombrophilous vegetation; c) GranSabana with hills and dense vegetation; d) Gran Sabana with hills and shrub vegetation; e) GranSabana with herbaceous vegetation and/or bare soil. The presented methodological structure and the combined use of NDVI allowed to delimit and define the main geoecological functions of the area, pointing to the study of conservation of geodiversity.
