RESUMO: Por meio dos conceitos de Bakhtin sobre o surgimento do romance moderno, este artigo ilustra algumas características da obra maior de Giovanni Boccaccio, o Decameron, para destacar suaimportância na formação do gênero romanesco. ABSTRACT: Through the concepts of Bakhtin on the emergence of the modern novel, this article illustrates some characteristics of Giovanni Boccaccio's greatest literary work, The Decameron, to highlight its importance to the modern novel style.
