Approach to hypersplenism due to splenic metastasis of breast cancer: A case report

【 摘 要 】

The most common sites for breast cancer metastasisinclude the bones, lungs, liver, lymph nodes, and brain.However, splenic metastasis of breast cancer is extremelyrare. Hypersplenism occurs as a cause of severehemolytic anemia in carcinomas or with marked splenicenlargement related to splenic metastasis. We presenteda rare case of breast cancer with splenic metastasis thatwas undergone splenectomy to correct cytopenia relatedto hypersplenism. In the light of this case, splenectomycan be beneficial in the patients with hypersplenism
