【 摘 要 】

Faux-Hebrew is an inaccurate representation of the Hebrew language present in European Christian iconography from the 6th to the 16th centuries. The main reason is theological. In the period mentioned, artists counted on various sources for the representation of this alphabet, the majority of them translated in a negative way. This article has as main objective to highlight outstanding studies dedicated to the theme under analysis, their main categorization within the iconography associated with them, and their relationship to making mistakes in the creative process. The main information sources include the studies of Avraham Ronen, Ruth Mellinkoff, Shalom Sabar and Ilia Rodov.
