【 摘 要 】

Urban studies in Mexico began to acquire importance in the middle of the seventies following successive stages during which the fieldwork has been differently approached and appreciated. The present paper examines these stages and highlights the different conceptions of the fieldwork. The author concludes that at the present stage we are witnessing a come back of the fieldwork due to the new approaches used by the urban studies, more oriented to anthrophology and comprehensive sociology that it was the case in the past.
