【 摘 要 】

Since the Stonewall riots in 1969, the Gay Pride has become a more commonplace phenomenon, and is now one among other annual festivities in North-American or European major cities. What once was a confidential demonstration, serving the purpose of a collective coming out, questioning the heterosexual domination and the minority status in which gays, lesbians, trans and bisexuals are held captive, has now become an urban celebration, gathering heterosexuals as well as homosexuals, participants with varied life histories and motives. In France, the walk has been progressively institutionalized, which deeply affects the meaning and pattern of the event. After presenting the origins of the Gay Pride and the way the movement spread, this paper will describe the various forms of recognition and appropriation it makes possible, shedding light on the porosity of its constituting oppositions, with regards to visibility and invisibility.
