【 摘 要 】
Milk production in Brazil is widespread all over the country in properties that feature a form of subsistence production, without any technique, up to properties with advanced technology. Search for products with higher quality is being increasingly demanded by consumers. That being said, dairy industries are requiring the producer to improve the quality of milk delivered to the dairy, especially as the Total Bacterial Count and Somatic Cell Count. These parameters you can assess the quality in production hygiene and health of the mammary gland of the herd. The present work aimed to compare the Total Bacterial Count (TBC) and the somatic cell count (SCC) of milk obtained by manual and mechanized milking and measure the temperature of the milk at the time of arrival at the dairy. Samples for carrying out the analyses were forwarded to the laboratory of milk quality of Embrapa Dairy Cattle, Juiz de Fora – MG. It was concluded that this type of milking did not affect the sanitary-hygienic quality of the milk.
