【 摘 要 】

Role of Multinational Corporations ( MNC’s ) in developing countries isnot new in the arena of International business and globalmacroeconomics. One of the most significant economic developments ofrecent decades is the economic LPG process (Liberalisation,Privatisation and Globalisation) is reflected in the rapid growth ininternational trade and the surge in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).This process is to a large extent driven by new investments frommultinational corporations. A rapidly growing share of MNC’s in Indiaand Mexico in last decade was evident in various sector and inparticular to automobile sector. Multinational Corporations are seekingto exploit the vast but also precarious market potentials in theseemerging economies. Simultaneously, India and Mexico are increasinglyembarking on economic development strategies aimed at attracting MNC’sForeign Direct Investment as a means to access technology, capital,organizational and marketing know how, etc. This study does comparativeanalyses on the performance of automobile sector in India and Mexico,mainly in passenger car and Utility vehicles sector. It examines theimpact and the role of MNC’s in these economies since 1990’s, withderived empirical quantitative and qualitative data analysis that wouldillustrate and reinforce some of the contemporary status.
