(Series Information) European Papers - A Journal on Law and Integration, 2016 1(1), 359-361 | European Forum Highlight of 16 April 2016 | (Abstract) The proposed interinstitutional agreement on better regulation aims at improving the law-making process of the EU by better selecting the areas where new legislation is needed and by strengthening the cooperation between the three institutions involved in the legislative procedure. The new instrument introduces key elements on ex-ante and ex-post evaluations, transparency and accountability. However, it is regrettable to see that co and self-regulation have been removed from the agreement. Moreover, it has to be seen whether and how the agreement is implemented appropriately.
