【 摘 要 】

The inverter is the most fundamental logic gatethat performs a Boolean operation on a single input variable.In this paper, an optimal design of CMOS inverterusing an improved version of particle swarm optimizationtechnique called Craziness based Particle Swarm Optimization(CRPSO) is proposed. CRPSO is very simple inconcept, easy to implement and computationally efficientalgorithm with two main advantages: it has fast, nearglobalconvergence, and it uses nearly robust control parameters.The performance of PSO depends on its controlparameters and may be influenced by premature convergenceand stagnation problems. To overcome these problemsthe PSO algorithm has been modiffed to CRPSO inthis paper and is used for CMOS inverter design. In birds’flocking or ffsh schooling, a bird or a ffsh often changes directionsuddenly. In the proposed technique, the suddenchange of velocity is modelled by a direction reversal factorassociated with the previous velocity and a "craziness"velocity factor associated with another direction reversalfactor. The second condition is introduced depending ona predeffned craziness probability to maintain the diversityof particles. The performance of CRPSO is comparedwith real code.gnetic algorithm (RGA), and conventionalPSO reported in the recent literature. CRPSO based designresults are also compared with the PSPICE based results.The simulation results show that the CRPSO is superior tothe other algorithms for the examples considered and canbe efficiently used for the CMOS inverter design.
