【 摘 要 】

Wasperformedtransversaldescriptivestudyamongstudentsfromninth,tenthbasiceducationandhighschoolfirstinordertodeterminetherelationshipbetweentheindexheadandfacewiththeshapeandwidthoftheupperdentalarchpermanent.Thestudygroupconsistedof2880students,ofwhichweselectedarandomsampleof240subjectsnotrandom,120femaleand120male.Clinicalexaminationwasperformedbyselectedstudentsapplieddirectmeasurements.Withclinicalexaminationdeterminedthetypeofdentitionpresentformofthedentalarchesandtransverserelationshipsinterarchwhereaswithdirectmeasurementsareanalyzedcranialandfacialmorphologybyearningtheirindicesandmeasuresofupperdentalarchtransverse,applyingMayoral´sMethod.TheresultswereprocessedusingthedatapackageStatisticalPackageforSocialScience(SPSS)torelatethevariablesset,being55.4%ofthesubjectsstudiedhadbrachycephalicskulls,facesmesoprosopas42.1%,63.3%formsovoidarchfinallywidearch74.1%formalesand41.7%fornarrowarchfemale,withadegreeofstatisticalsignificancefortheresultsof#945;=0.05.
