【 摘 要 】

Inthepresentstudy,theeffectofmethylparathion(MP),anextensivelyusedorganophosphorusinsecticideinagriculture,onliverapoptosisinChalcalburnustarichi,anendemiccarpspeciesoftheLakeVanBasinofTurkey,wasinvestigated.Forthispurpose,fishwereexposedtosublethalconcentrations(1.47,3.0,and6.11mg/L)ofMPfor30daysundersemistaticconditions.Followingexposure,sectionstakenfromtheliverwerestainedusingtheterminaldeoxynucleotidyltransferase-mediateddUTPnickend-labelingmethodfortheexaminationofapoptosis,andthenapoptotichepatocyteswereevaluatedastheapoptoticindex(AI).Accordingtotheresults,theAIwassignificantlyenhancedatMPconcentrationsof3.0and6.11mg/L.Inconclusion,thepresentstudyindicatesthatMPhasapoptosis-inducingpotentialintheliverofC.tarichiandMP-dependenthepatotoxicitycausallyrelatedtotheincreaseintheapoptosis.
