【 摘 要 】

FishesofthesubfamilyGaidropsarinae,commonlyknownasrocklings,areanatomicallyuniquewithinthefamilyGadidae(Teleostei,Gadiformes),mostlybecauseoftheirpossessionofahighlyspecializedchemosensoryandvibratilefirstdorsalfin.ThegenusGaidropsaruscontains13extantspeciesoccurringfromsubtropicaltotemperatewatersintheNorthAtlantic,Mediterranean,SouthAfrica,NewZealand,Tasmania,JapanandsoutheasternPacific,plusasinglefossilspeciesfromtheMioceneofAlgeria.Anewspeciesofrockling,Gaidropsaruspillerisp.nov.,isdescribedfromtheMiddleMiocene(LateBadenian)corallinaceanlimestoneofSt.MargaretheninBurgenland,Eisenstadt-SopronBasin,Austriabasedonsevenarticulatedskeletons.Thenewspeciesisbasedonauniquecombinationoffeatures,including:possessionofawideneurocranium(neurocranialwidthcontainedlessthantwotimesinitslength);well-developedsphenoticspine;epibranchials2and3characterizedbymassiveuncinateprocesses;presenceof44(13+31)vertebrae;fiveposteriorparapophysesenlarged,theposteriorthreewing-like;2nddorsalfincontainsabout50rays;analfinwith43rays;caudalpeduncleveryshort(2.4%SL).Gaidropsaruspillerisp.nov.istheearliestknownoccurrenceoftherocklingsbasedonskeletalremains.Thevibratileandchemosensoryfirstdorsalfinofgaidropsarinesmayhavearisenbyco-optionofthefirstdorsal-finmodule.
