【 摘 要 】

AnewphacopidtrilobiteisdescribedfromtheGivetiansequenceoftheAwaynatWaninGroupinthesouthernGhadamisBasin,Libya.ThespecimendisplaysmostoftheeyeandsculpturefeaturesnecessaryforadeterminationandcanberestrictedtoPedinopariops(Hypsipariops)Struve,1982.Thenewspecimendoesnotbelongtoanytaxonknownsofarandhenceisconsideredtobeanewspecies.ThespecimenremainsinopennomenclatureandisassignedtoPedinopariops(Hypsipariops)sp.nov.A.ThisisthefirstDevoniantrilobitedescribedfromLibya,andrepresentsanunusualoccurrenceofPhacopidaeinarelativelycoarsesiliciclasticfacies.
