【 摘 要 】

TheremainsofcordaitaleanplantsareanimportantelementinBolsovianplantfossilassemblagesfromtheRadniceBasin(CzechRepublic).ThestudyofhistoriccollectionsandnewexcavationsbringstogethernewdataontheCordaitestypespecies-Cordaitesborassifolius.Cordaitesborassifoliuswasprobablyquitealargetreeofmonopodialorevensympodialstature.Itstrunkdiameterwasataminimum0.5m.Brancheswerebetween1.1mandspacedlessthan0.7mappart.Thebasesofthebranchesusuallyattainedabout2/3to1/2ofthetrunkwidth.Theabaxialcuticlehasstomataarrangedinmultiplexstomatalrowsthatformedawidestomatiferousband.Atransversecryptabovethestomaisanimportantdiagnosticfeature.Thecordaitaleanleaves,twigs,pithcasts,fertileorgansandseedsfoundarereferabletoasinglenaturalspecies.Theassociatedfertileorgansbelongtotwotypes:1)malefertileorgansFlorinanthusvolkmanniiand2)amorerobust,probablyfemale,formsimilartoCordaitanthusovatus.CuticlesfromthescalesandlongbractsofFlorinanthusvolkmanniihavebeenstudiedindetail.Mostscalecuticlesareastomatal,butstomatamayoccurveryrarelyonsomepartsoftheabaxialcuticle.Smalltrichomesgrewfromthescalemargins.Thecuticleofthebracthaselongatecellsandstomataarearrangedinsinglestomatalrowsontheabaxialcuticle.Manybilateralmonosaccatepollengrains[Florinitesovalis,FlorinitesguttatusandPseudoillinites,withacentralbodybipolarattachmenttotheequatorialsaccuswereseparatedfromscalesurfacesofFlorinanthusvolkmannii.ThepithcastbelongtothespeciesArtisiaapproximata.Theseedsaresmallandofthe“Cardiocarpus-type”.Cordaitesborassifoliusgrewinwet,peat-forminghabitatsandtheyweremostlikelytreesofmediumheight.
