SeveralspecimensofthehyolithOttomaritesdiscors(Barrande,1867)mostprobablyfromtheLowerDevonianDaleje-TřebotovFormation,SuchomastyLimestonefromKoněprusy,nearBeroun(PragueBasin,Barrandian),exhibitdistinctcolourationontheventeroftheconchandexterioroftheoperculum.Thesemarkingsaredevelopedasirregularbrick-redconcentricbandsthatfollowthegrowthlines.Ottomaritesdiscorsistheonlyknownhyoliththatseemstoretainitsoriginalcolourpattern.
