Theknowledgeofthehumangenomeisincontinuousprogression:alargenumberofdatabaseshavebeendevelopedtomakemeaningfulconnectionsamongworldwidescientificdiscoveries.Thispaperreviewsbioinformaticsresourcesanddatabasetoolsspecializedindisseminatinginformationregardinggeneticdisorders.Thedatabasesdescribedareusefulformanagingsamplesequences,geneexpressionandpost-transcriptionalregulation.Inrelationtodatasetsavailablefromgenome-wideassociationstudies,wedescribedatabasesthatcouldbethestartingpointfordevelopingstudiesinthefieldofcomplexdiseases,particularlythoseinwhichthecausalgenesaredifficulttoidentify.
