【 摘 要 】
Inthepresenceofadenosinetriphosphateandphosphoenolpyruvate,C14-l-leucinewasincorporatedintoproteinbyhomogenatesofPsammechinuseggsandembryos.Theincorporationwasinhibitedbyribonuclease.Particularlyinunfertilizedeggs,aconsiderablepartoftheincorporationactivitywaslocalizedincomponentsofhomogenatessedimentingat12000g.Inhomogenatespreparedinstronghypotonicity,lessoftheincorporationactivitywassedimentable.Whenhomogenateswerepreparedinparallelfromunfertilizedandfertilizedeggs,thehomogenatesoffertilizedeggsshowedasignificantlyhigherincorporationactivity.Theleucine-incorporatingactivityofthehomogenates,asmeasuredundertheseexperimentalconditions,rapidlyincreasedduringtheearlystagesofdevelopment.Theincreasebegansoonafterfertilizationandculminatedinthelateblastulastage.Theincreasewasnotessentiallyduetomoreefficientaminoacidactivation;itwasequallyobviousinincorporationsystemsfortifiedwithlivercellsapasasourceofactivatingenzymes.Theincreaseisprobablyattributabletoahighercontentofactiveribonucleoproteinparticlesintheembryos,sinceitwasalsoobservedinincorporationexperimentswithlivercellsapcombinedwithpartiallypurifiedribonucleoproteinparticlesfromtheembryos.
