References(27)Cited-By(3)The hydrodynamic behavior of a Newtonian-fluid flow in a parallel-plate channel with one porous wall having uniform permeation rate is studied theoretically. The Navier-Stokes equations were solved numerically under laminar flow conditions for a wide range of wall Reynolds number. Distributions of shear stress acting on the permeable wall are also evaluated.Based on the results of the fluid flow analysis, a method for the prediction of particle trajectories in a filter chamber with imposed electric fields is outlined in the present report. Furthermore, the flux of particles transported onto the filter medium is estimated and also compared with experimental data, which show favorable agreement.
