【 摘 要 】

In vitro transcription and subsequent translation of the cloned Chlamydomonas chloroplast atpB gene was used to study assembly ofATP synthase. Translation in the presence of thylakoids resulted in association of the β subunit with the membrane. The in vitro synthesized polypeptide bound to the membrane copurified with CF₁ on sucrose gradients. This provides more evidence for the self-assembly of CF₁.
