【 摘 要 】

Max-plus algebras and more generalsemirings have many useful applications and have been actively investigated. Onthe other hand, structural matrix ringsare also well known and have been considered by many authors. The main theorem of this article completely describes all optimal ideals inthe more general structural matrix semirings. Originally, our investigationof these ideals was motivated byapplications in data mining for thedesign of centroid-based classificationsystems, as well as for the design ofmultiple classification systems combining several individual classifiers.
