Laparoscopic hysterectomy and its fundamental aspects

【 摘 要 】

Hysterectomy is one of the most frequent surgical techniques used to treat benign uterine diseases. In our country, the minimum access approach gains support to perform it in the field of gynecological surgery. A literature review was made to summarize information about laparoscopic hysterectomy. The main aspects on its development, the surgical technique as such, its indications, counter- indications and complications, advantages and disadvantages in comparison to other approaches for hysterectomy were also discussed. The objective was to collect updated supporting materials on this topic for residents of different surgical specialties who practice this operation. It was concluded that laparoscopic hysterectomy is an effective safe alternative for patients who meet the criteria for this kind of surgical approach.
