【 摘 要 】

Introduction: laparoscopic hysterectomy plays an important role in gynecologic surgery today. Objective: to describe the outcomes of the laparoscopic hysterectomy from January 2001 to December 2012 in "Hermanos Ameijeiras" hospital. Methods: a descriptive study was conducted in patients with gynecological diseases and scheduled for laparoscopic hysterectomy. Data about surgery, immediate postoperative period and complications were all collected, processed and analyzed. Results: mean age was 48.7 years and uterine fibroid was the most frequent surgical indication (80.0 %). Surgical time and intraoperative hemorrhage means were 124.3 minutes and 195.5 milliliters, respectively. Intraoperative accidents occurred in 6.9 % of cases whereas 8 patients required laparotomy, for an index of conversion of 7.3 %. Conclusions: laparoscopic hysterectomy offers an effective option to patients prescribed for this access path.
