【 摘 要 】

Cucurbits comprise a group of plant species of great economical interest for the increase of food production such as cucumber, melon and squash. The varied production systems constitute an attractive option for these crops. However, some favourable conditions for the development of diseases, like the cucurbit powdery mildew, occur. This disease is mainly caused by four genera and five species of the phylum Erysiphales: Golovinomyces cichoracearum (DC.) V.P. Gelyuta (syn. Erysiphe cichoracearum DC), Sphaerotheca fuliginea (Schlecht. ex Fr.) Poll. (syn. Podosphaera fusca (Fr.) U. Braun and Shishkoff) and Podosphaera xanthii (Px) (Castag.) U. Braun and N. Shish (syn. Podosphaera fusca). They are widely distributed all over the world and their identification is complex. The development of these pathogens is conditioned by different bio-ecological characteristics and in spite of the fact that, at present, we can rely on a group of genetic, chemical and biological measures, their control is insufficient.
