【 摘 要 】
The presence of antimicrobial residues in tissues and tetracyclines in bones of pigs was researched in the slaughter house of the Metropolitan Zone of Guadalajara, Mexico. The study was organized in three stages using two different methods. The first stage researched the frequency of tetracyclines in pigs. From 277 pig carcasses tested, the 47% was positive to tetracyclines. In the second stage, the fluorescence visual detection in samples of femur, humerus and rib of pigs was conducted. From 172 bone samples, the 81% was positive. In the third stage, the presence of antimicrobial residues in tissues was researched using the three- plate microbiological method. From 62 pigs analyzed, the 50% was positive, the 27,4% negative and the 22,6% was uncertain. Kidney, muscle and liver samples were 41,9%, 54.8% and 66,1% positive respectively. The incidence of antimicrobials in contaminated animals detected in this study showed evidences that slaughter is commonly carried out in animals containing antimicrobial residues at the Guadalajara's slaughter house.
