【 摘 要 】

Introduction: Lippia origanoides HBK is a plant with a high agro-industrial value, which is used as condiment for its resemblance to the Origanum vulgare. Used in traditional medicine to enhance gastrointestinal function; posses antispasmodic, sedative, diuretic and disinfectant properties, moreover it is used against the nausea, colds, coughs and asthma, and is also used against dandruff (Pityriasis simplex). Although many studies are conducted related with the characterization of the Lippia origanoides essential oils, there are no studies on the relationship between plant fertilization, essential oil production yield and composition. Objectives: determinate the relationship between fertilization of three different L. origanoides accessions (Patía, Típica and Cítrica) and the production, yield and composition of their essential oils.Method: fertilization was done with nutrient solution modified Hoagland and Arnon, for 4 months. The essential oils obtained by steam distillation in Clevenger type apparatus, and the essential oil production and yield were evaluated. The essential oil composition was determined by gas chromatography coupled to a mass selective detector (GC-MS).Results: the maximum yield of essential oil (4.65 % - mL/100 g of dry leaves) was showed in the Patía accession treatment 4, followed by Típica accession treatment 3 (3.72 %) and Cítrica accession treatment 10 (3.10 %). Thymol was the most abundant compound present in the essential oil. Conclusions:The nitrogen was the element that most influenced the yield and production of essential oils L. origanoides accessions, while the availability of magnesium influenced the composition of monoterpenes in percentage present in essential oils. Patía is the most agroindustry promising for present the highest yield, production of essential oils and the highest percentage of thymol.
