【 摘 要 】

The article focuses on academic libraries  adult users, dividing them into two groups - adult (40-55 years), students mainly on undergraduate and postgraduate studies, and seniors (over 55 years) who participate in the activities of the Academy of Senior Age of the Pedagogical Academy in Lodz. The following item presents the assumptions of the process of lifelong learning. It describes the motivation of students to study at a mature age, goals they want to achieve, and the role of academic libraries in the concept of learning throughout existence of an individual.
