【 摘 要 】
Introduction:In wrestling, events that can cause physical changes, such as falls, contacts on the ground, lifts, bows, among others, occur. Objective:To estimate the prevalence of injuries and correlated factors in wrestlers. Materials and methods: Observational, correlational and cross-sectional study including 29 athletes of the Wrestling League of Bogotá.Results:In the past year, 15 athletes had no injury (51.72%), 11 had an injury (37.93%) and 2 had 4 lesions (6.89%). The highest prevalence of injuries presented in shoulders (17%) and the most frequent type of injury was tendinopathy (13.79%). Body mass index (BMI) had a positive effect on the likelihood of injury (p value=0.07) with significance at 10% and, also, with an initial significant variable (p=0.014).The results of the sit and reach test were significant at 10% (p value=0.09), indicating a slight positive relationship between athletes who are more flexible and the injury. Conclusions:The most prevalent injury was tendinopathy on the shoulder. BMI, the start of practice at 13 to 16 years of age, and the sit and reach test have a positive significance towards the number of injuries in the past year.
