【 摘 要 】

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the influence of wechat-groups peer education on self-management behavior and quality of life among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods 〓Totally 191 cases of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were recruited and divided them into control group and study group according to random numbers table. The 95 patients in the control group received routine health education, while 96 patients in the study group received the wechat-groups peer education in addition to routine health education. Patients were investigated with Personal Diabetes Questionnaire(PDQ), Diabetes Management Self-efficacy Scale(DMSES)and Diabetes Specific Quality Life Scale(DSQL)before and after intervention. Results 〓There were significant differences in the six subscales of PDQ, including diet knowledge and skill, dietary decisions making, eating problems, eating barriers, blood sugar monitoring barriers and exercise barriers, between two groups after intervention(P<0.05). The subscale and overall score of DMSES were significantly higher in the study group than those of controls(P<0.05). There was a decrease of DSQL scores in both two groups after intervention, and subscale and overall score of DSQL was lower in the study group than those of controls(P<0.05). Conclusion 〓The wechat-groups peer education program is an effective intervention to improve the self-management behavior and quality of life among type 2 diabetes mellitus patients.
