【 摘 要 】

Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of nurse-led peer education on knowledge and self-management level among mothers of infants and children with fever. Methods 〓Totally 137 mothers of infants and children with fever were selected by cluster random sampling and divided into the control group(n=67)and the study group(n=70). The regular health education on knowledge and management of fever was performed in the control group, and the nurse-led peer education was carried out in the study group. The knowledge and self-management level of mothers on fever were evaluated before and three days after training. Results 〓The accurate rate of assessment on fever knowledge was improved in both two groups after training(P<0.05). Mothers of infants and children in the study group achieved higher accurate rate of assessment on axillary temperature, frequency of temperature measurement, relationship between fever and infection, slight fever, hyperpyrexia and risk factors of convulsion compared with those of controls(P<0.05). The score of self-management assessment was improved in both two groups after training, and was higher in the study group than that of controls(P<0.05). Conclusion 〓The nurse-led peer education is effective to improve the knowledge and self-management level of mothers of infants and children with fever.
