【 摘 要 】
Yearly forecasting data indicate that wet season occurs at short intervals. Flooding and drainage problems have been sources of complaints from local and surrounding communities in Sri Gading area. The current situation is made more difficult because of the flat area and low infiltration rate. An investigation on this location shows that most of the Parit Raja area sits on compacted clay more than 30 m deep. The failure of the top layer to distribute the total run-off infiltrates to the layers complicates the situation. The present study aims to determine the essential properties of the layers in real condition and identify the interaction parameters in stormwater movements. An initial model was installed in the area with several deep monitoring wells. Combined with a pumping technique, column and vertical flow systems were applied as potential layers to store pending inundation in the ground. The current study presents an alternative solution to stormwater management with new methods applicable to real site conditions.
