【 摘 要 】

Thiosemicarbazonesare a class of compounds known by their chemical and biological properties,such as antitumor, antibacterial, antiviral and antiprotozoal activity. Theirability to form chelates with metals has great importance in their biologicalactivities. Their synthesis is very simple, versatile and clean, usually givinghigh yields. They are largely employed as intermediates, in the synthesis ofothers compounds. This article is a survey of some of these characteristicsshowing their great importance to organic and medicinal chemistry.
