TandBlymphocytesrecirculateamongblood,lymph,andextralymphoidtissuestoensureimmunesurveillanceandtheestablishmentofself‐tolerance.Theunderlyingmechanismsregulatinghomeostaticlymphocyterecirculationthroughbodycavitiesarenotfullyunderstood.Here,wedemonstratethatthehomeostaticchemokinereceptorCCR7regulateshomeostaticrecirculationoflymphocytesthroughbodycavities.CCR7deficiencyresultsinmassiveaccumulationofCD4+andCD8+TcellsandB‐2Bcellsintheperitonealandpleuralcavities.TheincreaseinB‐2BandTlymphocytesisnotassociatedwithanalteredmaturationand/oractivationstatusofthesecells.Mechanistically,anincreaseinperitoneallymphocytenumbersiscausedbyimpairedegressofCCR7‐deficientlymphocytesfrombodycavities.TheseresultsestablishthatCCR7playsacrucialroleinlymphocyteexitfromthePerC...
