【 摘 要 】

Tailor welded blanks consisting of interstitial free steel and high strength dual phase steel are laser welded with non-linear welds. The influence of parameters viz. non-linearity in the weld, strength of the parent materials and variable blank holder forces on the movement of weld line were studied. It was found that the effect of non linearity in weld dominated the other parameters in restricting the weld line movement. It was also noticed that the height of the formed cup obtained was comparatively more in non-linear weld than a straight weld.
