【 摘 要 】
Nowadays development of autonomous vehicle driving control systems is a global trend. The growing autonomous vehicles market is stimulated by a variety of competitions and awards. This article introduces the background and the first steps taken by the research team of Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University named after R.E. Alekseev (NGTU). The research is supported by GAZ Group's United Engineering Centre and by PAO GAZ experts. The control system in question is developed for operation in severe weather and road conditions of the Russian Federation. An electrical platform is used as chassis for the control system. The working components of the autonomous vehicle driving control system, its location and the area of operation are considered in the article. The software to operate every module of the system has been developed; the system operation has been tested.
