【 摘 要 】
Clustering in nuclei is traditionally explored through reaction studies but observation of electromagnetic transitions can be of high value in establishing, for example, that highly-excited states with candidate cluster structure do indeed form rotational sequences. A topical example is given of the identification of a candidate super deformed band in28Si where super deformation in this nucleus has been described as originating from24Mg+α clustering.
