【 摘 要 】
Gleditschia fera (Lour.) Merr (GfL) was a traditional herbal used for treatment of diabetes mellitus and for arresting and/or slowing down hair loss. In this study, powder of GfL dried fruit was immersed in the pure water to extract saponin and other components atdifferent material/solvent ratios, extraction time (hours) and extraction temperature (C). Saponin content of the final product (extract) was evaluated by Oleanolic acid-H2SO4 assay. The antioxidants activity of the extract was determined by DPPH method. High extraction yield (74g/100 g) was obtained at the material/solvent ratio 1:15 (w/v), 50C and 4 hours extraction time. Under these optimized conditions, the highest saponin content of was 37.06 mg/g. The extract can harvest 45.30 % of DPPH at 10000 μg/ml concentration
