Abstract Background and Objective: The aim of this research was to study the working memory between Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and normal children.
Subjects and Methods: The research method was causal comparison and expose factor. From a total population of Ahvaz male schoolchildren, 59 students were screened for ADHD. Then, 42 students with ADHD were selected randomly. In addition, 42 normal students were randomly selected as control group. The instruments were Canner’s Questionnaire, Raven Progressive Matrices Test and Working Memory Index (WMI). We used MANOVA to analyze the data.
Results: The results revealed that there was a significant difference between working memory capacity in ADHD and normal children (P<0.001). In ADHD children, the rate of working memory performance and its subscales were significantly lower than normal children.
Conclusion: The working memory performance and its subscales were significantly lower than normal children were.
