This study identifies and analyzes the determinants of tourism demand in Africafrom 2005 to 2015 using panel data regression analysis. We applied fixed-effectsestimation to variables divided into three; economic, non-economic andinstitutional quality, and later run a regression including all variables. The resultssuggest that income level, health and political stability are the main factorsaffecting tourism demand in Africa while control of corruption was found not to bea significant variable to explain tourist arrivals. With respect to this, Africancountries’ policy makers and persons of influence should put focus more onimproving their infrastructure for a better income level, strengthen health servicesand facilities and to maintain political stability.
