【 摘 要 】

In today's world of communication, satellite communication plays an important role. The communication between ground stations and satellites orbiting the earth at high altitudes needs to be increasingly accurate to handletoday's data flow requirements. The study of the ionosphere allows engineers to better understand and anticipate the perturbations a transmitted signal will encounter, hence making the link more robust. In particular, the total electron content is an important characteristic to model for the possible distortions of this signal. Expensive receivers have been designed and deployed to receive satellite signals and provide such needed information, but we will make use of today's available technologies to design a low-cost software-based receiver that will allow us to receive two signals at coherent frequencies in order to deduce from their analysis the total electron contentof the ionosphere.
