This thesis details the creation of a program named CEA X Program that calculates the chemical equilibrium compositions of complex mixtures using a user interface created in Visual Basic. The program uses the iterative method of minimizing the Gibbs energy or the Helmholtz energy first utilized in the NASA CEA program[1]. The original NASA CEA Program requires the use of FORTRAN compliers and knowledge of how to create program input files. The new CEA X Program uses Excel macros and user forms which improves the user's experience while retaining the accuracy of chemical equilibrium calculations and adds new functionality to provide feedback to the user earlier in the input process. This document includes an overview of how the program was developed, details on how to use the program, and provides examples of the CEA X Program output and testing.
