This work presents several novel components for the MATLAB Simulink® toolbox THERMOSYS™. The first component is a universal heat exchanger, which can behave either as an evaporator or a condenser as the refrigerant properties dictate. The second component is a liquid-to-solid heat exchanger, which can be used for a range of applications from an in-floor heating system to a small cold plate. Finally, the third component is a liquid-to-two phase heat exchanger, which can be used with the liquid-to-solid heat exchanger or separately, as the user desires. Qualitative analyses of the liquid-to-solid and liquid-to-two phase heat exchangers are presented, as well as discussion of the benefits of transient analysis versus static analysis.
