【 摘 要 】

The change to a prospective payment system for Medicare patients has forced hospitals to adopt new management strategies. This paper examines those strategies and proposes that hospital administration costs have increased as a result of the prospective payment system. Data is gathers through a review of those areas most effected by the change: admitting, medical records, discharge planning, nursing, and physician relationships.
