Juveniles who sexually offend (JSO) face an uphill battle when trying to reintegrate into the school system following detention, incarceration or residential treatment. School reintegration is critical to restore the lives of these youth and their families. One way to facilitate a successful transition back into the school system is to involve caregivers. Research examining the role of parenting practices in improving the youth’s academic performance is critical to support the reintegration of JSO into society.
