【 摘 要 】

In 1493 Pietro Capretto, a priest from northern Italy, wrote a treatise on miracles in Latin. The manuscript, an autograph long thought to have been lost, is a dialogue between the author;; (Petrus) and his interlocutor, one Jacopo di Porcia (Jacobus), in which they discuss the nature of miracles. The dialogue which has never been translated into any modern language before and seems to have escaped scholarly attention altogether, addresses questions such as: What are miracles? What is the difference between divine and diabolic miracles? In addition to a first time translation of the text and an in-depth commentary, my dissertation gives an overview over the author;;s biography, the genre, as well as subject matter and highlights one of the work;;s numerous themes.
