This paper considers how reconciliation between the differing legal and social constructions of the ocean of Indigenous peoples and the Crown is addressed in Canada and New Zealand’slegalsystems,withparticularlyattentiontocasestudiesofmarinespatialplanning processes taking place in each jurisdiction.
