【 摘 要 】

This paper presents a summary of the context in which Myanmar is expected to graduate from the least developed countries (LDC) category, based on an assessment of the country’s performance against the United Nations Committee for Development Policy’s (UNCDP) graduation criteria, which is supplemented with additional indicators on potential areas of vulnerability.

The findings highlight the complementary support needed to mitigate country vulnerabilities, as informed by the structural and development trajectory of Myanmar.

A strong economic and social development performance in 2011–2020, as well as its reduced vulnerability, has put the country on a solid path towards LDC graduation.

This progress is a product of several interrelated factors that have propelled the country’s development, including its abundant natural resources, a growing population and rising exports supported by its strategic location in Southeast Asia.
