【 摘 要 】
This publication is the firstcomprehensive overview of the education sector in Sudan. Thechallenge that remains is to design policy responses to theissues identified within the forthcoming education sectorstrategic plan. More important, these policies-already beingdiscussed with the Ministry of General Education (MoGE) mustbe effectively implemented so that Sudan can make fasterprogress toward achieving the Education for All (EFA)targets and Millennium Development Goal's (MDGs). It ismy hope that this report will serve as the basis for anevidence-based and equity oriented approach to educationplanning and investment. This approach will have positiverepercussions for overall economic growth, povertyalleviation, and human development in 21st-century Sudan.This report was prepared in collaboration with a nationalteam from the MoGE and partners active in the educationsector in Sudan. Over a period of 18 months, thiscollaboration facilitated considerable capacity building indata collection and analysis, as well as regulardissemination of the analysis to a wider audience.
