【 摘 要 】

This Sourcebook has been prepared tohelp in implementing the World Bank's current ruralstrategy, by sharing information on investment options andinnovative approaches that will aid the design of futurelending programs for agriculture. The Sourcebook providesgeneric good practices and many examples that demonstratethat investment in agriculture can provide rewarding andsustainable returns to development efforts. The contentshave been assembled from all regions and thematic groups ofthe Bank, and from the experiences of many partners.TheSourcebook is intended as a ready reference forpractitioners (World Bank staff and their partners inborrowing countries) seeking summary information on thestate of the art about good practice for agriculturalinvestments, and innovative activities that merit closemonitoring for potential scaling up. The Sourcebook isdivided into eleven self-contained modules. Each modulecontains three different types of subunits, which can alsobe stand-alone documents. The Sourcebook thus providesintroductions to topics, but not detailed guidelines on" how to " design and implement investments. Thestandalone nature of each subunit of the Sourcebook allowsflexibility and adaptability of the materials, butnecessarily results in some replication of the issues covered.
