【 摘 要 】
This book reviews the humanimmunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome(HIV/AIDS) situation in the Middle East, North Africa, andEastern Mediterranean (MENA/EM) region, and is intended tostimulate discussion and promote dialogue among theregion's policy and decisionmakers. It seeks to providea framework for multisectoral strategic action to reducebehaviors that risk spreading HIV, to care for and supportthose who become infected, and to diminish vulnerabilityamong specific segments of society. Although most evidencesuggests that overall HIV prevalence is low in the region,greater investments in improved surveillance, and careneeded now-to maintain low prevalence levels and preservethe focus on national and regional development goals.
